Saturday, AutoSport installed the timing system and invited all to find
out how fast their cars really were. Too often we see drivers adding
all sorts of go-fast devices, bigger turbos, multiple carbs. and extractors,
and the end result is plenty noise but how much faster is the car really
travelling? So for a small fee of $20.00. and with the car properly
scrutineered and indemnity form signed, drivers made as many passes
as they wished - All in a day of good fun and shameful or surprising
truths.
The
results follow, however the timing system apparently suffered from some
glitches during the day. For example Jude Ramdeen's SiR is not yet capable
of running 13.7 (Jude you should frame that time slip!!). Autosport
assured me though that the other driver's times were much more accurate.
