The
Saturday Street Class competition saw some fifteen cars jumping into
the fray. This Dial-up challenge continues to generate some incredible
interest and certainly is encouraging all those hot streetcars to focus
their energies on the Track and not on the road. With a late start due
to technical problems, the Dial-up competition was run off on a one-loss
and you are out basis. This put added challenges on the drivers who
recognized the need to be almost perfect at every run.
In
the end Kirk Ho Hing with his Civic came up against Dave Deen
with his Sentra. The final was to be a best two in three runs.
Ho Hing has participated in competition in previous years and
Deen has been a two-time winner in Dial-up action. So both these
drivers knew what they were about. And true to form, after two
runs both drivers had registered one win each. But Kirk Ho Hing
eventually emerged winner in the final shoot out. This Dial-up
series promises to unearth some serious excitement in the coming
Events amongst some new and very talented young drivers, some
of whom have already crossed over into full Racing competition
on Sunday.
