The Trinidad & Tobago Karting Association staged their first event for 2003 @ Pier 2, Chaguramas. As a spectator's sport, karting delivers the most action and excitement as the racing is so close & competitive.

It also attracts a number of top drivers from drag racing, circuit racing, rally and power boat racing who take part as well as others who came to support.

The Karting association seems to be doing something right, as they seem to involve the entire family at all their events. There were 3- 100cc light class races and 3- 125cc shifter races. Top Drivers in this 100cc light are as follows:
# 1 Shameel Mohammed
# 8 Marc Gill
# 15 Marc Mohammed
# 58 Rajesh Harradan
# 88 Sheldon Chin

The shifter class was dominated by #75 Ravi Singh, he at times had to deal with #7 Shameel Mohammed who was unable to claim the checked flag on this occasion, but he is a determined driver who isn’t going to give up. Other competitors #69 Gary hunt and #18 Gerard Carrington had their own battle going on for 3rd place. Carrington, a newcomer to karting, enjoyed himself thoroughly as he settled himself into the groove of things. Gary Hunt, a very committed driver spent sometime sorting out some problems with his kart, eventually placing third overall at the end of the day’s event.
