TTASA Circuit Racing - 8th October 2006
Photography by Devi Nath, Narend Sooknarine & Ryan Ramsaran

The Trinidad & Tobago Automobile Sports Association together with Seafreight Fast Transit held their invitational race meet on Sunday 8th October, 2006 at the Wallerfield Racing complex. We welcome two drivers from Jamaica David Summerbelle and Peter Rae and one driver from St. Vincent Becks Gonzales, and commiserate with Barbados and Guyana – both cited timing and logistical issues for their non-appearance.

Ainsley on 2 wheels!!The intermittent rains only heightened the anticipation of the crowds who got their just due of slides, scrapes and spectacular overtaking maneuvers from the Jamaicans' well prepared racing evo 6 and RX 7 machines. Not to be outdone, the most powerful RX7 3rd generation turbo charged rocket in the Caribbean piloted by Ravi Singh left all in his wake.  His obvious supremacy was however tempered by brake overheating woes - What kind of braking system stops a rocket???

This non-stop hot seat action was the norm throughout the precision scheduled 9 Races Event, and the most subscribed class Group 2A (Semi Modified Cars), was shocked into submission by Christian Bourne and his orange Honda Civic 1600 turbo. This well prepared racing demon blew away all comers to claim a well deserved 3 first places and the champion driver accolade for the event.

A Fantastic display of power on this day saw declarations, from both the Jamaicans and the Guyanese (who were carefully observing everything), that everyone will return to Trinidad after the Guyana International of 28th/29th October 2006 - with Barbados still in the wings. So on the Seafreight Fast Transit International Part 2 Challenges of Champions ???  The Guyana/Jamaica ultimatum !!!
