WOOO HOOOO!!!! For those of you who were not able to get to the race course for Round 3 of the karting action, you really missed out. Again the day was action packed with drivers grabbing pole position by only .04 of a second and races being full of excitement.
100cc and Shifter classes were again combined. Shifter driver, John Tannous (33) really put the pressure on this weekend as Gary Hunt (135) had a tough time trying to get past him.
The 100cc class again proved to be exciting as Haresh Nanan (32) and Sheraz Hosein (77) battled throughout the day for first place honours while Brittany Mohammed (14) had her hands full and showed Brent Hurdle (00) what real ‘woman power’ is about as she was able to hold off Brent to take 3rd place in race 1.
The Kid Class again was entertaining as Bridget Singh dominated all races making daring passes on Che Carrington. We also saw the debut of young ‘Sherriff Lobo’ who cruised into 3rd place.
Hmmm, what can I say for the Rotax Class. It seemed like a train of karts racing breathlessly around the course. Rotax Masters was hotly contested with Shameel Mohammed (7), Dave Cropper (29), Gerard Carrington (18) and Denzil Nedd (27) fiercely challenging each other for the top spot. On this occasion we saw Prentice Ali (26) making his debut (without nitrous ☺) and putting on a great show with Aslem Ali (70). While Rotax International casued many tense moments with pockets of battle zones. Out front were Shahinder Singh (16), Ravi Singh (75), Luke Bhola and Marc Gill (8) fighting tooth and nail, then we saw Brandon Steele (134) … yes the lone Rotax Junior competitor, up in the mix battling David Coelho (50) and Steve Ghany Jnr. (49) all just waiting for the front runners to crack under the pressure.
The highlight of the day however came when young Nicholas Narinesingh (23) silently picked off all competitors to win the final race of the day leaving spectators in awe at his thrilling moves.
Well if allowed to I could go on and on about the day’s events, but I can’t share all the excitement with you, so you MUST make your way to the next event on April 15, because I am sure there is unfinished business to take care of … so see you there!
