du Maurier Boat Parade - Saturday 26th. July 2000

Photography by Rawle Francis and Nebert Marin

Every year the du Maurier Great Race is preceeded by a Boat Show usually held at West Mall. This year the boating fraternity feted through the streets of Port-of-Spain showing of their muscled marine machines, together with the beauties from from this year's Ms. Trinidad & Tobago pageant.

TriniTuner's coverage of the du Maurier Boat Parade began at 7am when we visited the home of Gulf Warrior, having left there we rendezvoused with other boats at the West Mall meeting point.

The parade commenced at around 8am and continued despite the rain. At around 2pm, the boats in all their splendour were put on display for the curious to have a closer gander. It was an opportunity for non boaters to get close and personal with the drag racers of the deep blue sea.

We braved the intermitant showers to present exclusive online coverage of this event.
