AutoSport Promotions Drags 2000
- Preview for 24th. & 25th June 2000

So the action returns to the AutoDrome this coming weekend with the third in the Series of exciting Drag Racing Events at Waller Field

The organizers have definitely made a bold move with the securing and installation of the new seating accommodation for the die-hard spectators .

On the Racing scene, there will be a new challenge for the top guns in the Open class with the arrival of a new Team from south. Coming with a new Rail and a big block V8, the experienced driver with many years of competition under his belt, has already sent warning signals to Gordon Rooks in his Tweety Too V8 Laurel and Michael Douglas in his Gormandy Rail. (TriniTuner caught a sneak peek of the rail in action at Wallerfield last sunday - inset picture - )

Whilst Tweety Too has been running unbeaten in competition since its launch in mid 1999, Rooks is coming with some bad attitude to avenge the “grudge match” win achieved by Ryan Garcia in the SKF Turbo Lancer a the last Event. Both drivers have been working on their Nitrous systems to ensure better performances this time around.

To date just three drivers have maintained an unbeaten status in competition, Rooks in the Open Class, Brian Franco in his Ford Escort 38-Special with a 3000cc straight six, and Gregory John in his Honda Civic in the 15-seconds Class.

On the Saturday 24th June, AutoSport will be making an extra effort to pull all those enthusiasts with hot street machines, to run on the track and not on the road. With the full electronic Timing system in place, and for a small fee, these drivers will be encouraged to run their cars and really determine who is truly capable and fast. The best of the lot will be well rewarded and may very well be seen in competition on Sunday 25th at the AutoDrome.
