Circuit Racing Test at Camden
27th January 2008

Camden needs to be put to use for all motorsport, that is the directive of the governing body TTASA. With that in mind, a trial circuit track was set up using safety cones laid out in the shape of a "dog bone". Cars were scrutineered and drivers we allowed to go out and test the track. Test cars included fully built GTU cars right down to family daily driver wagons. Needless to say this course was a challenge, trying to use a narrow airstrip, conducive to drag racing, as a track for circuit cars. Some sections were barely wide enough for the wider race cars, let alone space for passing. It seemed the only places left to "overtake" were on the straights. There should be another test in April 2008 as TTASA works to sort out all the issues noted from this event.
