Solodex V - Clash of the Titans - 10th. September 2000

As experienced by Crawl 3NE 2NR.

As with most new fads, we Trini's can't see a good thing and not be a part of it.
Such is the case in my newfound love of Solodex. Solodex is rapidly becoming a respected autosport locally because the word is spreading about the thrill experienced when competing and trying to navigate the course. If you haven't already heard, the objective is to complete the course or slalom in the fastest possible time. In other words you're racing the clock. After 4 runs your shortest time is used to decide your placement amounts other competitors.

Solodex V for me was "THE BOMB", not only was I able to experience the course by walking it, my good friend Roger AKA. Toysport let me compete in the Fun Run event with his modified Corolla.

My dear trinituners, I encourage you all to find a car and wake up the Barber Green (the pitch) at Solodex VI. It was the best adrenaline rush I've felt in years. It's a lot cheaper than other auto sports too. The most beneficial aspect of Solodex however, and I think all current competitors will attest to this, is that you always leave Solodex better prepared for the unexpected road hazards where many a time some degree of driving skill is required to come out ALIVE. It's a real test of driving skill.

The competition on the day was mixed with owners of MG's, Civic's, Laurel's an RX 7 and even a Skoda trying to out drive one another and produce the fastest times in their respective classes. In the end I was really impressed by the sportsmanship and apparent love for the event exuded by the 30 odd competitors.
