TTKA Karting #3 2013

While most of you were tucked away under your blankets on Sunday, the Trinidad and Tobago Karting Association hosted its third even of the 2013 season. Despite overcast skies and a wet track, this race meet was the most successful for the year. Karters came out in their numbers and we saw the return of several racers who have been absent from the sport for some time.

TTRC 2013 – Tarouba Unleashed

Another great event put on by the TTRC and held on the Reform Stage with a special performance at the Tarouba stadium to make up to rally fans who were cheated when the finale for Rally Trinidad 2013 was cancelled. A few D&W competitors tried their hand at pace notes and the DWO boys gave the crowd a demo they won’t forget. Another highlight was seeing to the two youngest racers in their respective fields, go head to head: Kristian Boodoosingh vs Kraig Sumair.

T&T`s Rishi Kanick said a prayer as he attended the special Sunday church service for all racers of the National Hot Rod Association`s (NHRA) Dollar General Four Wide Nationals at Zmax Dragway, North Carolina which formed part of the final day of weekend action from 19-21 April 2013. Reaching the final round of an NHRA event and going up against five time World champion Top Alcohol Dragster, Bill Reichert, was literally that prayer being answered for Kanick.

Drag and Wind #3

Great entries, as good a spectator attendance as we can hope for at this venue and the gradual improvement of organization in an ever evolving environment. Two major areas we focused on were to increase spectator covered-bleacher accommodation, and this we did but…. was still shown to be wanting more. And gaining access to the cleared area to the South for more parking. In both instances we were dragged on until the last minute to keep our word, but we persevered and delivered in the end.

Rally Trinidad 2013 Day 3

Day 3 of RT13 saw the return of battle-ready teams who missed out on some of the previous day’s stages. The day saw one of the longest stages ever run in Rally Trinidad with a crisscross layout across Bronte. These four stages were run back-to-back and were the key deciding factor for the winner of RT13. The length of the stage and the level of difficulty proved to be a good test of the teams’ endurance and skill. Casualites were Cristian Bourne (gearbox failure), Latiff Khan and Zak Waddell just to mention a few. The popular spectator stage, Jack and Jill incurred no casualties and the teams completed two of the four stages and then proceeded to Tarouba Stadium.
