As this weekend draws near, rally drivers all over Trinidad, are feverishly putting the final touches and tweaking to their cars, in preparation for the sea-bound journey to Tobago Their families, service crew, media, well-wishers and sponsors are also caught up in the rally excitement.
We are so appreciative of the THA’s patronage. This is the 2nd episode of Rally Tobago and the TTRC has 25 driver teams in total inclusive of 2 from Jamaica and Barbados – a big welcome to our regional rally family … over 150 rally folk are ferrying over beginning from Wednesday and another set is flying over. With many of the rooms taken at Turtle Beach and together with the welcoming Tobagonians, we expect a much larger turnout this year.
Here is a brief agenda on the weekend’s activities.
Friday 2nd July – a motorcade through Scarborough from 3:30pm ending at Gulf City Mall Lowlands.
The cars will be displayed in the Movietowne car park from 4:30pm and the Opening Ceremony begins at 5:30pm.
Saturday 3rd July – rally begins at 10:00am promptly in the Courland Estate with Prize Giving after rally.
Kids who sat the SEA exams this year, are especially invited.
Admission is FREE to ALL spectators!
There will be food and drinks on sale.
Sunday 4th July –Black Rock Heritage Park .. walk with your coolers and join the rally club members and families in a rally cool-down cooler lime from 12noon to 7:00pm.
A few of our drivers competed in the recent Rally Barbados in May and there is a lot of excitement and anticipation in the air as to this year’s winners. Will “One Oot” take it away again? Will one of our visitors take home? It’s anybody’s guess.
We wish to remind all visitors from Trinidad that turtle nest at this time of year and to be careful. .. we do want to return to Tobago next year.
