Team Trinidad sets off to participate in this weekend’s Digicel Williams International Circuit Racing Event which starts a new chapter for BARL.
Three of our more experienced Racing drivers will be representing Trinidad and Tobago and competing at the Bushy Park Barbados Racing Circuit this weekend of 28th and 29th August 2010, at their International Event which will see over eighty cars from Jamaica, Guyana, UK, Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago.
This is round two of the Championship, the first took place in Dover Raceway Jamaica on 22nd May 2010, with the final scheduled for 7th November 2010 Guyana.
Nizam Mohammed and Jameer Ali are seasoned Circuit Racers, and administrators, who have competed across the Caribbean and will be leading the team as they seek to keep the TNT flag flying, this in spite of there being no local circuit Racing track available. The third driver, Jody Ali is no stranger to motor racing having successfully competed in Solodex, Drag Racing and is considered one of the best in the rapidly growing motor sport of Drifting. And in his last Drag Racing outing in St. Lucia earlier this year, he was able to earn fastest-car-of-the-day in the first outing of his 2JZ engined Toyota Supra, clocking 8.914 secs. over the quarter mile.
But this is Circuit Racing, so we will see how this dynamic trio battle on the short tight turns of the legendary Bushy Park against the best that the Caribbean has to offer.
This team was fully supported by MATT, which facilitated the processing of all shipping documents, and will be seeking to rebuild a close relationship with all of the Caribbean Teams as efforts are made to develop a Caribbean Championship Series in every discipline of Motor Sport.
Three circuit cars representing Trinidad and Tobago will be competing at Bushy Park Barbados racing circuit on 29th August 2010 at their international event comprising of over eighty cars from Jamaica, Guyana, UK, Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago.

Trouble for Jody this weekend.
They were testing Friday and Saturday, getting a feel for the car on the track when two valves broke on Saturday before qualifying. They tried to get the parts from Trinidad in time but weren’t successful.
They were unable to compete at all on Sunday
From all reports the Bajan’s LOVED the Subaru though. I think it may have been the first one to compete at Bushy Park at that level. The car has been sponsored shipping to race in Guyana in November for the final leg of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC).
Will get some feedback from Nizam and Jameer later today

Team Trini fails to score in Barbados…I am very sure if we had a track in Trinidad, the teams would have tested and been alot better prepared. Lets hope the minister of sport has not forgotten about a circuit track. Better luck next time guys.

A good time was done by all, but yes, our failure in not having a track, meant that we really went there to test and set-up our cars future events. as for the ANP civic, as most of you know the car was a drag car before, and was simply bought and shipped across to Barbados, and hoped for the best. She was able to hold and pass on the straights but the suspension could not hold for the corners. At least we know now what is good and what has to be changed. All runner are prepping the next event.
On a side note trinidad gas is sheit, no really sheit… after being over there, hell, i brought back gas to dyno with. they have much much much better gas.
I am very happy i was able to go and learned a lot.
