John “Penti” Powell who recently took delivery of a new Subaru Impreza S14 WRC, flew in the car to Barbados for its first ever rally, taking place on the islandĀ this weekend. The Subaru Impreza S14 WRC, which is the first in the Caribbean, was given a shakedown at the Vaucluse race park alongside Barbados’ very own Roger “The Sheriff” Skeete in his Subaru Impreza S12 WRC.
With all the checks and balances taken care of, John with longtime friend and co-driver Dr. Michael March, took the car out for its very first hot lap ahead of the upcoming Rally Sun and Stars event to be held on the 3rd Sept. ‘11 across 2 stages on the north and eastern side of Barbados.
Sporting a load of new features, an example being Anti-Dip (to prevent the car nose diving on heavy braking). Speaking of brakes, the front and rear discs are of the same diameter, calipers too!
Notably present were top driver Paul “Surfer” Bourne and drift master Andrew Jones who were both on hand to take in a small practice session, but soon the rain put an early end to what was a hot shakedown session.
Rally Sun and Stars event coverage will be posted on TriniTuner within the week. Good Luck to Penti..!

Two questions: Why the Navigator seat doh have side support for the Nav. head when cornering?
And did the IVECO tractor truck come as part of the spares?
Great that an excellent driver can now get access to a brand new great car. Congratulations – far cry from when you first came to T&T back in ‘97 and had to fight up with the Mazda with the very week gear box
