The High Speed Stages began at 9:00am and the event began with 25 competitors, missing Dean Serrao and Colin Khan. The tough conditions of the high intensity stages did not deter the teams and they rallied on through the up and downs , sharp corners and dusty straights Bronte and Cedar Hill are notorious for. The WRC cars were back and forth trading times with John Powell and James Betts not too far behind. Casualties of Day 2 were : Peter Morris (electrical fire), Gobin Mahadeo (turbo failure/fire), Colin Khan (engine), Devendra Nath (engine) and Prentice Ali (double crash).

Karting action kicked off on Sunday 17th February to signal the start of the 2013 Karting Season. In the most exciting set of heats for the day, the Rotax International class started off with newcomers Aaron Ramsey (#43) in his first ever Karting race. Moving up from 100 CC class to a more competitive arena we have the likes of newcomers Che Carrington (#175) and Shane Pinheiro (#29). Marc Gill (#8) also joined the Rotax International class for the 2013 season. Dominating the first race of the season we had Che Carrington blasting off and improving his time with every lap of the 10 lap heat. There was no stopping Che as he continued to show dominance in the race.

5 T&T crews are heading to compete at Rally Jamaica 2012 this weekend. The Jamaican leg of the “Caribbean Rally Championship” is a very similar format to Trinidad with 4-6 different stages being run over Saturday and Sunday, and a tarmac super special in Kingston to close off the Rally.
