Following the successful migration of the MINI showroom to Oxford Motors, located at the ANSA Automotive building on Richmond Street, the next generation of brand new models made their debut at the recent MINI showroom launch. The range of available models includes the MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S, the new MINI Cooper Cabrio, the MINI Clubman, Countryman, Countryman Cooper S and Countryman All4.

Only a couple days have passed since the first Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 hit the shores of T&T. The car was spotted on the roads by the general public and the Facebook feeds went crazy immediately with cellphone pictures and video clips. So it was a no-brainer that LTPhotography had to do his best to shoot this amazing machine as soon as possible. And a special thanks for making that happening goes out to the motorsport videographer, ‘Sinister Audio’, and of course to the owner for being so kind.

Sheldon Bissessar, also known as the Trinidad Rocket, was recently nominated by the Trinidad & Tobago Automobile Sports Association for the Award of the Americas for outstanding achievement in Motorsport for 2011. Mohammed Ali, President of the TTASA and Premanand Badaloo of the TDC and others made the journey with Sheldon to the Hotel RIU in Panama City where the official Prizegiving Ceremony was held in honour of sportspersons from affiliated Latin American and Caribbean countries.

The local BMW dealership, Richmond Motors of the ANSA Automotive Group, hosted the Trinidad leg of the BMW M Power Tour at the Hasley Crawford Stadium, Port of Spain. The event was held over a 3 day period and included orientation, test drives and hot laps with the very able driving instructor Donnie Isley from the BMW Driving School in North Carolina.

The day began in earnest with a 7am call time at the Caroni Bird Sanctuary. Mitsubishi L200s, Ford Rangers, Land Rovers, Range Rovers Suzuki Jimnys, Toyota Hiluxes, Mazda BT50s, and even a chop-top, door-netted Nissan Patrol were gearing up for a taste of the TOTAL Trailblazers 4×4 Annual All Terrain Challenge event. Last year there was so much rain that the King of the Hill had to be cancelled but this year, things seemed off to a great start.

What does someone think when the term ‘Chick Olympics’ is mentioned? There is no time to think! They get their ass down there immediately to see for themselves! Well at least that’s what phototakeouter extraordinaire Lyden Thomas did. The amazing Jamie and Chelsea held another fantastic event, one filled with beautiful girls downing tequila shots and going head to head on an obstacle course. With teams such as ‘Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies’, ‘Hot Muddah-Truckers’, ‘Wii not fit’ and many more, the action was sure to be intense. Thanks for the invite ladies!

Jean Todt, President of FIA, accompanied by his wife Michelle Yeoh, the global ambassador of the Make Roads Safe campaign, left Columbia at the end of last month, as part of a compact, week-long tour of several Latin American countries. Among the other countries en route were El Salvador, Panama, Cost Rica, Guatemala and finally Mexico. Selected as one of the 22 elite ambassadors to make this trip alongside FIA President Jean Todt, was Trinidad-born Selwyn Persad, who returned home on Sunday, after the exhaustive week of tour.
