D&W#5 was staged on the 22nd June, again after encountering some challenges with the late approval of the Police Permission. But we did what we had to do to ensure we satisfied our competitors and patrons.

With the staging of this first event, with the new course layout, and the new system of classifying cars, we all know that there are rough edges to be polished out. With change comes these hurdles that WE all shall work together to tidy up. A special thank you to all who made the effort to come out for this Event at such short notice and we are convinced that our next Event, carded for 25th May will be even bigger and better.Full Story
The Barbados Tourism Authority and Top Gear Festival has announced that 2008 Formula One World Champion, Lewis Hamilton, is set to join the star-studded line-up of world famous presenters and motor sport legends at the inaugural Top Gear Festival in Barbados, from May 17-18. As part of an action-packed weekend of motoring spectacles, the British Grand Prix ace will take to the newly refurbished Bushy Park Circuit to join a host of challenges set by Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. Hamilton has a natural affinity to the Caribbean region with his grandparents, on his father’s side, hailing from Grenada, just a short hop from Barbados.Full Story

Top Gear Festival will make its Americas debut on the Caribbean island of Barbados at the newly renovated Bushy Park Circuit on 17-18 May, 2014. Hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, Top Gear Festival Barbados will feature an awe-inspiring line up of cars and driving talent including The Stig, the Top Gear Stunt Team and guest drivers from the world of motorsport and entertainment. Stars will take to the track in a series of Top Gear style stunts and features for the action packed weekend. Under weather perfect for a day at the beach, ASPL held their 9th event in conjunction with Total Meguiar’s Car Crazy 2013 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
The racers were to the west, with the car show and judging within environs of the Jean Pierre Complex and the car park south [...]
Great entries, as good a spectator attendance as we can hope for at this venue and the gradual improvement of organization in an ever evolving environment. Two major areas we focused on were to increase spectator covered-bleacher accommodation, and this we did but…. was still shown to be wanting more. And gaining access to the cleared area to the South for more parking. In both instances we were dragged on until the last minute to keep our word, but we persevered and delivered in the end.Full Story
AutoSport Racing continued in its tradition of hosting another motor sport Event that many considered one of the best in the Drag and Wind(ing) series, at what must now be considered the prime home of Motor Sport in T&T today – the Car Park of the Arima Race Club. Unbelievable but true in this country, and one many consider the richest in the English-Speaking Caribbean!Full Story
ARA (AutoSport Racing Association) has successfully completed its first D&W Event (and the first MotorSport Event in T&T) for 2013, with a fairly large turnout of spectators with over 60 competitors despite being on the same day as Panorama semifinals.Full Story
Drag & Wind #5 was successfully executed on Sunday 24th June at ARC Car Park. We always speak of the mix of competitors and cars that can and have been able to participate in this type of Event. And another major plus, is, in spite of Rain, the event goes on. When there is just too much we do shut down the timing system for safety and to avoid damage to the electronics, but the major issue is the delay that inevitably occurs.Full Story

As the AutoSport-promoted Drag and Wind(ing) Events continue to attract the best combination of Competitors, Spectators and Sponsors, the organizers are starting to see a very interesting trend in performance.
