D15b question vtec vs non vtec

Tuners I would like some feedback on this subject please how different is the d15b vtec from the non vtec, reason I asked is I have the 3 stage vtec engine manual transmission with some bolt ons but the engine got damaged and needs to be replaced and finding another is really hard at the moment so I'm considering buying a non vtec engine so I wanted to know if there are any drastic changes in terms of performance and if it's a good choice to go with the non vtec and what are the pros an cons. My goal is to have a responsive vehicle with great handling. I know the d15b is not the fastest platform but they work well imo.

So all feedback would be greatly appreciated
Thanks.

a d15b does not have "responsive" handling, and obviously vtec has better performance

lol i think i should get a vtec then instead of bolting on vtec parts on my non vtec

i have
vtec trans
vtec header
vtec head gasket

compression is a whopping 10.5.1 because of the pm3 pistons with p2a head
