Possible answer on why my Civic don't start in the Sun

Postby EFFECTIC DESIGNS » May 22nd, 2012, 1:20 am

ok update got my ECU and car start. However a certain problem is still there car don't start in sun and cranks very softly. Cranks hard in cold and starts perfect colder the place is.

Paul suggested its the distributor sensor. However doing research on the net

http://www.amazon.com/Beck-Arnley-203-0 ... 331&sr=8-1

read the comments here on Amazon. You can see everyone says when they bought this new relay their Civic or other Honda which did not start in the Sun or after long drives, started to work normal.

I studying if this would work in my EG8 Civic though? says its not compatible with my model car but people here saying it working on theirs on amazon.

^ Jason said it happens sometimes. Nothing really you can do about it. Moisture or maybe it get wet or something who knows.

I should get one by today.

I got a electrician to come home to check it and voltage reading fine. 12.5v

I doubt the second brain box dead but the diagnostic tool kit said the first one was not functioning well it said no communication with ECU. Got the second one from tuner by the name of pornstar#1

Battery dead trying to start so I charging it go try it back tonight.

That car is old enough to drink. And it was made when ECU's just started mass production. There will be bugs that reveal themselves after 18 years. Now imagine an 18 year old stereo from that era. Aiwa or Sony.
I say not bad ECU, you did good.

^ I took out the carpet and no I do not think it has anything to do with the getting wet now. I taught it did but not seeing anyway for it to get wet.

ECU burned twice when I turned on the AC though I been using the AC for about a year. But yeah the 2 times it burned was when the AC was turned on.

I realized the car is certainly showing its age now and those electrical components ain't gonna last much longer.

Its time for me to sell and upgrade to newer since this just isn't carb engine where you can keep for donkey years.

I had similar problem. Timing was off, distributor cap needed cleaning and I had poor compression.
