If its auto you should make it manual, manual brings out the full potential of any engine...
but if its already manual..i dont know much bout the SOHC's but the formula for all engines is Fuel + air + exhaust = horsepower!
The d15z4 is non v tec (i think) why not just get another D series with v tec? they're not that expensive and would be a better platform to start with IMO
