WTK EK3 overheating problem

Postby lana » June 23rd, 2014, 8:23 am

Hi guys I have an ek3 and it keeps overheating. So far I have checked and flushed the radiator, checked hoses for leaks, checked sensor and insrument panel. As soon as I go a bit of distance or hit highway the temp gauge goes up. Any suggestions as to what could be causing this?

Could be your water pump. Try disconnecting the hose to the top of the rad and start the car (not for long tho) check to see if water is flowing properly out of the engine. You can rev it a little to see if there's a change in flow. If the flow is weak it could be the pump needs to be changed. It will only take about 10mins to do this. If this doesn't help, Eric the car guy has a video on overheating. Maybe you'll get an answer there.

Check your fans to make sure it coming on when car gets hot. It could be faulty, make sure fan is spinning, also check your radiator it may be clogged......

The problem is your heat sensor for the fan,It's right where the termostat is.
