Loss of power after timing belt change?

Postby redrum » July 22nd, 2014, 2:52 am

Yes tuners apparently a quack did a timing belt change on my prelude, car starts fine however when accelerating car is sluggish and there is a Huge loss of power. I tried advancing the distributer, and slackening the other belts still have loss of power. I thinking timing is off, however I don't have a timing gun. Do I have to scrap everything again to correct this problem????

Why not try carrying it by a better mechanic?

You check back the mechanic that did the job initially?

Don't try to patch it. Get it by a mechanic pronto

Their are usually timing marks on factory cam gearsand on the crank to line up when you are doing a timing belt job
Yes you will have to pull down everything to check it
