b16a5 issues Need Help Urgently

Postby JesuEric » June 23rd, 2015, 8:27 pm

honda gurus this is the situation

I have an EK4 SIR with a b16a5. All the time it ran superbly and it has no thermostat.

My fan started to make a squaking noise and someone said that happens when it is about to go. so I took front and changed it, while changing it I took out the Top hose, engine was kina warm still so alot of coolant poured out

After I put back the fan I topped back up with water/coolant

I have a mishimoto radiator 2 core,

I let the car idle for 30 mins everything was fine (night time)

The following day I went for a drive and the temperature rised to above half, and the car lost all its power.
I pulled over saw no leaks, went home and wait for it to cool. When I opened the radiator it was full but I noticed the resevoir was low, so I topped up the resevoir

The next day going over Lady young the car got sluggish again then temperature rose again this time I opened the bonnet and steam/coolant was spitting out the resevoir as I shut down the car and opened the resevoir the gauge went back to normal,

I have no idea if I have air in my system or if I need a new radiator cap. Idk how to bleed the system

Also when I start up after the car goes to normal temperature it goes back to being responsive and quick.

Any suggestions?????

It also doesn't overheat one time it take about 20mins-25 of constant driving for this to happen, after the scn on lady young when I reached home the radiator needed coolant again i poured coolant/water in and now the same overheating issue happens but its not as high as it used to be however i still lose all my power

You need a 10mm spanner, start the car slacken the nut by the bleed off port on the body of the water outlet housing. That is where the top rad hose connects to. Once your not seeing any more bubbles coming out tighten it back and that's it.

Yup it's air in the water system , needs to purge out . Ideally you should've let it idle and make sure the air come out .

OK so two other things that can cause that.
Bottom rad hose sucking in or water pump fins damage and not pushing the water
