$1000 isn't bad at all for an event like this...

club class is to get people interested in the sport and it is the base level at entry but as usual trinis would spend thousands on hp but time to pay to race, they beyotch and wine like little girls....

times like these prove who is passionate about the sport and who like to bump their gum online...

^^^

Am I bringing negativity? Or am I just asking a very straightforward question?

A 20x20 tent cost money to rent, entry for a pit vehicle, and a 4 man crew cost money, if I don't need such things couldn't there be an option for that?

Men have been putting on events for YEARS with competitor fees of $150-$200 with ambulance and security present, Granted that wasn't at wallers where you now have a rental fee which I understand will drive costs up a bit.

I just thought if you trying to get people into racing (the safe way) it may be good to have a cheaper option available - or I guess you could rely on Drag-n-wind and Dex for that.

Why didn't you call your car Frank, Vishnu, Bob, Rajesh, Sudesh, Harry or Leroy?? Why Adon? Ah mean, you actually KNOW Adon too

cost to rent the facility is very expensive for 1. without any solodex or D&W experience, you won't be allowed to race in wallerfield unless you can prove your experience.

when you have to work on your car, you can't do it out in the hot sun, when you have your supporters/friends with you, can can't expect ppl to sit in the sun or loaf under someone else's tent....
i am sure you can discuss with them to share a tent with a friend or something.

why dont you contact AMAR on the numbers posted and have a chat than complaining online

again men who want to race, will spend the money to do so

Hey Guys.....AMD is working on a package to lower the entry cost for all competitors.

As it is we are giving the general admission away for food and school supply donation....so we do not collect any money from the bulk of the ticket sales, (but at least we can feed those who cant afford to eat). There there are costs for fire rescue, ambulance, police services, clean up, security, generator rentals, toilet facilities, printing, stands, garbage service, tent rentals, lots of staff to have the event run as smooth as possible.

What i came up with is to have the competitors sell ALL ACCESS AND 4X4 tickets and we will credit 10% toward their entry fees.

Thoughts?

ingalook wrote:$1000 lil steap though... you are getting a lot:

FRIDAY - SATURDAY - SUNDAY ACCESS
ONE RACE CAR PASS
ONE PIT VEHICLE PASS
ONE DRIVER PASS
FOUR CREW PASSES
20 X 20 TENT RENTAL
TRANSPONDER RENTAL

But for a "Club class" vehicle it seems like a bit of overkill

From my understanding Club class vehicles are street vehicles on street tires

I could just get my cooler put on my stickier street tires and drive to wallers all by my lonesome

Then I don't need a 20x20 tent, or a 4 man pit crew, and a support vehicle... All I need is a car and Driver pass and the Transponder rental

I'm just looking at it from the point of view of making the sport more accessible - perhaps I could chain up 4 brederen to put up with me and call them my "crew"

It is a good value, just more than I (and I suspect a few others) need

Sir, Do you know the cost to have the police, Fire service, ambulance, PA system, Insurance, Etc??
when u pay your money these are SOME of the things you pay for...
So cause asking, God forbid you spin out an end up in the bushes will you like them to leave you their an say " Nah he didn't pay for fire an ambulance, left him dey, call he partner them to help Him"
Sorry but if its out of your budget please don't bring negativity to the Event,
Bless
out of my budget LOL...... I never said anything about what you are talking about here boss.

Oh my gosh. I had such a GREAT time today. Must say thank you to AMD for hosting this event and to my sponsors AMSOIL, The Tezza Shop and Racetrac Wheels. Those Sailun tyres held like mofos in the dry AND the wet.

this event was marketed more than any other racing event this year probably save for Rally Trinidad.

Something else caused the low turnout of both competitors and spectators.

Honestly I think many things caused the low turnout.

For drivers the price may have been a deterrent, also for a new type of racing to have such a strict and confusing set of rules may have discouraged people from coming. Solodex started off with basic SCCA rules and evolved them from there. Drag and Wind used the basic grouping(GP1,2,3 and 4) rules for the cars in the first year and then that evolved to the time bracket system. Something like this may have been a better approach.

On top of that there have been events almost every weekend for the past few months, and scheduled events with championship series next week. Eventually people need to work on their cars or just need a break.

Same thing for spectators, lots of events recently, this one people don't know much about plus we just came out of an election season so people probably needed a weekend off.

Maybe in the future it could reach to the level of event they wanted to put on but I think they just need to develop it a little differently to achieve that.
