I've never heard of any trouble from Mitsubish cvt's :)

The Nissan Primera has had it's fair share of cvt trouble.....

Well theyre both made by Bosch, so, maybe its cause the Primera one taking more jamming from the 2 liter.
Whats the list of cars and engines using these? I can think of
Primera, Civic 1500, which mitsus?

i mean i noticed u dont really feel the "pull",,,i realise the tach just shoots up, the engine makes some noise and so on....it's not liek normal.
however i realise if u accelerate at a gradual rate, it works very well

is like a rubber band sling shot kina thing

u accelerate and the revs go up and then like a seconds after , "SLING" u start moveing faster

is not like the typical burst of power as with a regular tranny but they are more efficient and burn less gas as a result

its more smooth IMHO and more tamed to drive

CVT's are not for tuners, they are for grannies and old men with heart conditions

they allow seamless transitions between gear ratios by using a system of flexible metal bands to create the diff gear ratios

Bring it meng BRING IT

(checks to see if flight to Iraq is confirmed.....yeah oh, ok thanks)
BRING ITTTTT !!!

but in all seriousness, you know my issue, reliability, I don' t know the car and I don't know all the details on the design of that particular CVT transmission but I don't think that a CVT was designed to handle the amount of troque from boosting.

True, reiliability is an concern when boosting a CVT, but Mr. Fixables has boosted his Exi and there are several stock CVT transmissions that are capable of handling high torque. I don't know much about the Mitsu CVT's, but most mivecs do come mated with 4-speed ones on the Mirage and FTO and seem to be ok. Some of the Nissan ones are capable of handling high torque as well:

Nissan X-Trail GT:
Transmission: Full rangeelectronic control 4 speed automatic (E-ATx)
ENGINE:
Displacement: 1998cc
Engine model SR20VET (NEO VVL)
Max.power (Net): 280 ps (205.94 kw) / 6400 rpm
Max.torque(Net): 31.5 kg*m (308.91 N*m) / 3200 rpm

--

Nissan Skyline:
Transmission: X-troid CVT-M8 (8 speed speed change manual mode attaching non-stage transmissions
Engine:
Displacement: 3498cc
Engine model VQ35DE (NEO)
Max.power (Net): 272 ps (200.06 kw) / 6000 rpm
Max.torque(Net): 36.0 kg*m (353.04 N*m) / 4800 rpm
