I am having a problem with my mazda protege 2000

sometimes when I am driving the car starts to bad idle and when I press the gas to go the car takes its time to accelerate
when I stop the whole car vibrates and the exhaust sounds like it coughing or something.

then after a couple mins the car just shoots off and no problems after that

I have changed the air flow meter and cut off the catalyst changed the stock exhaust and the problem is still there

I need help cause it frustrating me like hell

I got a 323 2000 model and i was havin a power problem ... like it use to pull real lazy .I removed the maf sensor ... sprayed it with electrical contact cleaner and the problem was solved .....your case souning similar ......

Have you tried changing your plugs ?

Were u using unleaded all the time?.. if not your catalytic converter is plugged and hence your hold back and bad idle ..... but u say u chop thatoff already so u can eliminate this.

Your injectors and throttle body may also be dirty .

I used 2 get that problem only 2 find out that it was when I used "super" unleaded gas. Wierd, but true, I never have this problem with "premium" unleaded.....go figure

BTW: I've tested this several times by putting back "super" unleaded gas and it never fails to happen!
