define "battery water". And yes it is ok to use it to keep the plates covered, unless u have a sealed "no maintenance" battery

Hahaha... Yeah DONT use the liquid from an old battery, it that's what you mean...

BTW: T&TEC *used* to sell distilled water for $1.00 a gallon... dunno if they still do. That's where all those companies that sell battery water get it from!

Can you say... RIP OFF?

rain water is horrible... esp if u catch it from a tin roof. rain water is chock full of impurities (eg - dust, acidic content)

most parts places sell bottles of distelled water.

There is. It's usually on the outside of the battery though.

u risk removeing the sulphuric acid that is the basis of ur battery working boi hook , that is if some spills out

also when ur engine heats up the liquid expands , little vents to the top of the covers (the lil holes nah ) and the sulphuric acid can come up through these

Battery Water

Postby bleedingfreak » April 6th, 2005, 11:45 am

Just put enough water to cover the cells...

FYI - if you bought ur battery from Automotive Components (Power Master) and you have the warranty card, just go into any of their outlets and let them check your battery for you. They do that for free (once its their battery of course) They usually advise every three months.
And if you have a battery

I'm not too sure about Laughlin & De Gannes though (they sell Rocket batteries), though I will find out... (cause I have a Rocket!)
