P/S high pressure line failure symptoms? Nissan b14

hearing some weird noises around the P/S pump for the first minute then it subsides
turning the steering, reving the car does not change the spead or pitch of the sound...
its constant even if i try to drive......
steering doesnt get stiff or feel anything out of the ordinary (atleast not yet)

im not sure if its the pump or the high pressure line....

can anyone tell me the symptoms of such....

Look for power steering fluid leaks if u suspect high presure line.. Possibly bearings thinking about it.

When did you last change the PS oil?

the fluid from the reservoir?....i usually drain that out every 2 oil changes

but i never did like a flush of the entire system

That should be sufficient based on your frequency.

Can be the relief/bypass valve. De lamination of the hose should cause a constant noise rather than just at start up.

well i think and hoping its the pump since i have a spare one
steering super stiff.....and fluid leaking somewhere around the pump....i'll determine exactly when the engine cools....

shitty thing mechanic isnt working till thursday!!!

i wonder how hard it is to do a diy change....
