Hi guys. Against my advice, my father carried my Almera by his favorite mechanic (who, according to him, can do no wrong) to change the brake pads, instead of waiting for me to do it this weekend.
As a consequence of his impatience, the car came back WITHOUT the brake shims and now the brakes squeal like an off-key Hitchcock violin solo played by a tone-deaf howler monkey at the slightest pressure on the brake pedal. I've considered selling my father to a Russian organ farm because of this. Seriously.
No, I'm very serious. This is the second time he's done this.
So, rather than invest $70,000 on a sound system loud enough to drown it out and playing Lata Mangeshkar music all day, or buy a pair of front spindles, or just torching the chariot... I'm looking for any brand of brake pads that come with the shims as my cheapest alternative.
I know that Wagner pads for many Toyotas come with them, but I've never seen a set for Almera/B15 that did.
Any suggestions? Not the organ farm, for getting the brake shims I mean.
