project sr20ve 20v 6 speed install.

Postby d_sunnyboi » December 11th, 2012, 9:16 pm

hey fellow tuners and veterans of the engine swapping world. i currently own a b11 sunny which is my pride and joy, i've begun upgrading it as my project ride, so far i've completed the brake and suspension upgrade. The brakes were upgraded to r32 4 pot in front and p11 disc in the rear and for the suspension i've used c33 tein fully adjustable coilovers in the front still stock in the rear. the last part of my upgrade is the motor in which i was lucky to obtain the sr20ve 20v out of the p12 gt which comes coupled to the 6 speed LSD gearbox. i bought the motor complete with axles, shifter, brake, clutch and accelerator(electric)pedals, harness, maf and brain box. i haven't started the install yet so if any of you guys know of previous installs feel free to comment.

thank you

Sweet, always wanted a project like this.

looks, like you have to move your battery to the trunk. Make sure you use the proper gauge wire to power this beast and invest in a good radiator

Nice.
get a battery box for the optima. along with a length of o gauge, you will also need a high pressure fuel pump and the gas tank may need modding

any of you guys can direct me to find an N16 manual instrument panel other than that I've been told the p11 should work with the sr20ve 20v by the way i need an instrument panel that is all electric signal, odo, tach, temp and fuel.

Hate to break it to you, but that gearbox is not LSD.
Good luck with your project.

No it doesn't come LSD, but the OEM HLSD from the USDM Spec V Sentra or Altima is a direct swap.

The installation will involve straight forward fabrication (bracket for driver side mount and custom crossmember), you will need custom axles also.

The electrical will be the challenging part, as this motor is OBD2, that is if you plan on keeping it OBD2.

Well for the axles if figured i would have to get them made, I don't wanna sound like a noob but can you explain the term OBD2.

thanks for the info Yakuza, when you say the car..as in the car or the new motor to go in?..concerning the term OBD1/OBD2, i was reading that the difference is the O2 sensors before/after catalytic converter, if this is so there's only one on the exhaust manifold before the catalytic converter but the exhaust was cut off directly after catalytic converter.

thanks again.

Yes I'm referring to your B11, you will need an OBD2 diagnostic port to have the wiring done properly.

There should be two O2 sensors, one before and one after the cat.

MIC is the only place I know of locally that can make the axles.... won't be cheap.

You can also convert it to odb1 but that will involve buying odb1 distributor, ecu, harness , throttle body ECT, I have a wiring diagram for that engine somewhere on my laptop if you need it. Great engine you got there man ! Good luck
