B14 temperature gauge problem

Postby playzcircle » December 30th, 2013, 6:57 pm

Sometimes while driving my temperature gauge does just drop right down as if the car is off and then raise back also gas gauge does it some times. Any one ever experienced this problem or know the problem?

seems as though the power Ic / chip needs replacing. in the b12 theres a small square unit that has 3 wires coming out of it. this is what powers up both temp and fuel gauges. in the b12 its located ontop of the cluster itself.

check to see of your b14 has one- or if its built into the cluster - that may be the issue and needs replacing.- or is not getting a proper ground / supply causing both gauges to show incorrect readings
