NISSAN CEFIRO JK 200 COOLANT SENSOR ISSUE

Postby 2 Towers Distribution » November 18th, 2014, 7:36 pm

Have a jk with the qr20de engine. Recently my radiator had a crack on top and i went and changed it only to realise that same day the engine fan isnt coming on. The fan comes on together with the other fan when the ac is turned on. Went by my electrician and he pulled out the plug to the cooland temp sensor and the fan came on.

Now i went and bought a coolant sensor and installed but the fan still didnt come on. I was told that all nissan coolant sensors work. What i will like to know is what can be my problem, no problems found after doing the diagnostics. Is it that the i need to get a genuine qr20 coolant sensor ??

use genuine sensors and ensure the cooling system is bled properly.
do a proper scan and ensure the cooling system electrical functional
also use original nissan / honda coolant. (made for aluminum radiators and engines)

to bleed the cooling system step by step.
engine MUST be COLD and vehicle on a LEVEL surface before doing the procedure.

1. tun off air condition but slide the temp setting to hot.
2. ensure the overflow bottle has coolant and remove radiator cap
3. start engine and let it warm up.
4. once warm rev the engine to approx 2000- 2500 rpms until the fans come on.
note that air trapped in the system will find its way out thru the open rad.
5. once fans come on stop revving let it idle. top up coolant in the radiator as necessary.

NOTE: to do this procedure you will need a spill free funnel.
If u like i can do it for you.

see vid op- eric explains it clearly.

Since you live at Marabella, check Shane at Shannon's electrical.
Union Park Junction.
Peace.

Got through with the problem. Trying different nissan temp sensors didnt work so i ended up visiting motorist in marabella and bought a genuine temp sensor for the qr20de engine. And problem solved, fans came on. As skyline child said above genuine sensors is a main thing.
