Seat belts were and still are a safety feature.
Study now you getting mats and locally installed alarm as additional features.

They should know
1. The difference between an open diff, a limited slip diff and a locking diff.
2. Realistic fuel consumption. .. not what the brochure has.
3. What the abbreviation for the features mean or at the very least what it does. ... not just rattle it off because you read it. E.g. abs with ebd, cvvt, esp.
4. Safety ratings as was mentioned earlier

Pretty much this. Sales guy didn't convince me to buy. The people he or she convinces to buy don't really know or care about all the nitty gritty. It's also why there is a huge disparity in features between cars of similar prices here.

I think the lack of knowledge by sales personnel seems to be the norm for firms, in my experience there have been only a few car sale reps that go beyond reading the brochure and regurgitating. I remember walking into a dealership not too long ago and a guy started his pitch, so in return I started asking questions that he couldn't answer and when I told him I'm just looking he immediately disappeared.

Funny enough when he left a young lady came across and answered every question I had and I sent my cousin directly to her when he was ready for purchase. Sometimes not being able to answer questions can cost you a sale, but hey by blowing me off he may have gotten two sales from persons who didn't really care.

What's the cheapest new vehicle for active safety systems? Especially ESC.
The City usually comes with VSA standard in other regions but not in ours...

Don't quote me Ronaldo but I think they're starting around $169k..but as we're on the topic of vans..why is it that the Navara is still so costly with the new Ranger, BT-50 and D-Max on the market..i mean the Hilux only got a face-lift..but it's a Toyota..so he'll get a bligh..but the new Navara is already out and Massy still calling so much for the old model..thats been here for ages..so to speak..

Say it with me
P O W E R
No other van except Nissan has that kinda output from a 2.5 locally.
Haven't seen the amarok locally yet so it remains unchallenged :-)

But seriously if people still buying the van at the price they calling. ... why lower it.
Even if it doesn't sell at the price they calling. .. They can just move it into the rental fleet (or one of the other M groups)

OK you're points have been duly noted..the D-Max has power yes.. and we'll the Amarok is nice yes..luxury..German..byt the towing capacity..atrocious..payload capacity worse..its 8 speed automatic tranny is nice though..to me it's more of a pips van.. but why doesn't our market get the good stuff.. we didn't get the 6fwd manual variant of the PX Ranger..the beastly STX-550 Navara..the new SR5 Hilux..only Australia and that side want good thing or what??

Not sure how towing capacity is calculated but I can tell you that the hilux is very near the bottom in terms of carrying capacity

@ A2BE..I guess you're right eh..but if they bring in good stuff..people will buy it!! But if we're settling for mediocre..keep supplying the masses..muahaha..lols

@ Kamakazi..that is true..but in terms of reliability..Toyota trumps most in a sense eh..i think it's the suspension that makes the Amarok weaker in terms of towing..

Confirmed that the Basic D Max MT is 160k

That price of 168k for the basic Navara on the first page up to date?

Prices of brand new vehicles really high in Trini though...especially plenty of them sheet cars that does be selling

Ac yes.
Power steering yes.

Turbo 2.5 as all navaras have.

I can comment on the 4x2 models because that's what most companies use and service.
