Sad ... base models in the states and Australia getting touch screen with apple car play and android auto compatibility later this year and they give us a stereo system that screams "high end" from the early 90's.

Driving notes?

Test drove it this morning. Took it around the savannah and back to the showroom. It is totally different from the last one with regards to the suspension, handling and quietness. The driving experience is pretty refined and I enjoyed it quite a lot. The test one is the top end version so it had leather seats that were fully powered. They offered a good comfortable seating position.

WRT interior space I'm 6'4" and the rear seat space was pretty good even when I set the driver seat to my driving setting. The rear seats also recline.

Its either 2.0l gas or 2.0 l diesel. No chance of getting the 1.6turbo gas.

That small screen really bothered me though.

One point of note - the specs they released indicated the top spec had 19' rims however the one in the showroom had 18'. I am not sure what else may be different from the advertised specs and the actual van when they do arrive.

And those 19" rims make a big difference in the look of the vehicle.

The top spec in the US with the 19" rims looks much better than that showroom pic above.

The 18s not that bad though.
The 17s on the Aussie spec if that's what we will be getting just plain ugly though.

I heard there's currently a 1.2tfsi a3 sport back for 250k at SS
Heard its Quattro as well but I doubt. Don't think a 1.2tfsi would be able to provide enough power for that.

Guess no info on this..

Call the dealer man! better source of info than asking any of us. When you do find out share! That's why there is a community here.

Yep I actually ended up going personally since I was in the area.
The 1.2tfsi a3 is there and for what you're getting, 250k is a steal! 0-62 in less than 10s is pretty impressive and has a claimed 57mpg. Best in class here for economy, easy.
Interior is typical Audi, well made and logically laid out. Infotainment system is simple enough for your non-techy mom to use. If I had one complaint, it's a little too plain for my liking. Sound is decent.
Didn't get time to test drive though.

No info on the 1.4tsi q3 though. They said they'll contact me regarding that.

Sadly fuel economy has no bearing on the car industry in T&T thanks to some dumb decisions by our government to price premium so high.

Thanks for the info!
250 is in the price range of the jetta and audi is supposed to be a step up.

Great car to drive. But I agree with Scotty. When you sit in it. It's so plain and disappointing.
Great sound system though.

No probs. I've grown used to using premium in a vehicle whose mpg is in the late teens.. so this would be a pretty significant replacement as an everyday car in terms of gas consumption

Also a friend of mine saw a hybrid Tucson at the dealership last week!

Am no.... I look at that as a step down.
A 1.2 engine ....really
I would honestly choose the jetta at the equivalent price. Might look at a fully loaded twin from either hyundai or kia.

Saw that the new Hilux has "officially" arrived in the country through the TTTL dealership. They cleared what appears to be the first shipment last night. Of course the drivers piloting these pickups didn't display any restraint with brand new yet to be purchased vehicles since some did not hesitate to peel back tyres with hard launches and taking corners pretty hard. Not too mention its straight line speed testing on the beetham while the hazard lights were on.

Pricing prediction:
double cab 4x4 auto, leather, 2.8td with full RAJA spec - $350k intro price?

Well there are some advantages...
A3 would be made in Germany vs Mexican made
Better warranty from ingolstadt
More desirable badge
Better fit and finish on the vehicle

Anyone know if that new Hilux comes with multi-link suspension in the back or same leaf spring?

Good job Massy! Saw the new tucson on the road (looks good btw), driving in convoy, hazards on and not crossing the speed limit.

Keith say hard times ahead I wonder if that means he touching diesel?
