body looks good... dont put a jz in the car, u WILL have to cut either the firewall or the radiator panel to fit it, will handle like more crap. u will have more fun with a rwd converted 3sgte, beams 3s or a 4ag..... *subscribed*

Agreed, I would advise the Beams 3s from the altezza, with the proper mods and suspension setup you will enjoy it even more, hoping to something similar soon, just need a structurally sound ke70.

yay....a real project!

here's what, the JZ Engine will be way to heavy and large for this car.
would be like driving a lead tip arrow

your options are as follows:

Not sure on the price for this:
FWD 3SGTE converted to RWD, however this requires some custom stuff like intake manifold, exhaust and bell housing, although there are rumors that a bellhousing from a SA63 Celica, mates with the W58 tranny (W58, you will pay much for this)

RWD 3SGE (from Altezza) - 12-14K in the bamboo (engine, box and harness with ECU)
This motor is a great one, however there are no aftermarket support for it and thereby if you need to snailarize it you will have to custom everything, from exhaust manifold to oil pickup to using 2JZGTE pistons and milling for valve clearance and oil squirts (keep in mind that when vvti kicks in the valves will open more causing them to make contact with the top of the pistons if they are not cut deep enough.
you will also need injectors and management thereby making it an expensive build.

Keeping it N/A is cool and all and will provide more that enough fun with the already allocated 210HP and 185 ftlb but the wiring is a nightmare and can send you mad with the e throttle that it runs, best bet is to use the 4AGE Black top throttles and convert it to ITB's by building a custom adapter to fit on the 3S head. Some form of management will also be needed here as well.

4AGE
you can acquire one for 7-9K and resell the tranny and recover some of the initial cost
get a charmant 4 speed or 5 speed bell housing and mate it to the tranny from the 2TB engines
or you can just acquire the T50 box, that bolts right up.
install and wired up and this = :P
you can also go carbs if you so desire
as for the distributor, you can either massage the fire wall a bit to accommodate it in the original position or make a custom adapter and have it run from the front of the engine via your exhaust cam.

either way, you have now acquired a decent car with lots of options to play with, nice thing about the KE70's is their light weight so even a modded 1.5 engine puts a smile on your face.

keep us updated on your plans/mods

you say that like if it's as easy as walking into bamboo and buying one

you can import from USA or the motherland, but prepare to pay and then some for it then shipping.

your stock diff can take the abuse of the 4AGE, also there is the option of welding/locking it

Lamy, so you going for the beams...........nice.

Just to make your life easier a bit, buy an entire front cut minus the suspension, fenders, lights & bumper.
Make sue to get the dash in tact so you can have all the wiring + the instrument panel.
Every bit of wiring you can have from the front cut will be useful, I can guarantee that.

Good luck.

knowing your history with your project threads

also, bringing a engine from Japan is not cup of tea. Especially if you not choosing it yourself.
support trini; buy local

Bamboo, you can walk around and choose the best one available, also there is a little thing called warranty.
And as I told you, get a front cut as all harness that's in front the car will come in handy.
Heck, with everything in the front cut, you can basically wire the car yourself

But as i said, good luck.

Yea dan...he had a big "NOT FOR SALE" sign on it and had it park up where it was at a point in time...probably had the same "Ah go fix it just now" Trini mentality :|

There were 4S powered Chasers/MarkII/Crestas with W58, not sure how available they are in Trini, but in Dominica we had a few of of them. Had the gearbox from one
plus the LiteAce Noahs have a 3SGE
