That car was originally named "Pito Time" and the chassis was built by my b!tch I mean, boy  "Gaby Chassis".. Driver is Joyto with the "Zagas" starlet.

Sad to see such a beautiful 1.8 come to an end like that.. Thank god is driver is ok

I took this pics of The one a few years ago in PR

Well with what they calling a track many trinbigonian racers who have bravely raced there said they will not run on that "track" again untill some improvement was done...there have been previously ... similar run offs...which have raised safety concerns.....sadly this tradegy of the one will hopefully kick start the needed improvement..and also hopefully motivate us to give more consideration to safety ..when it comes to racing

That "track" is privately owned...its only here we want the government to hand we a track so we end up as you say with a bunch of greedy men who want to dictate motorsport..(with tax payers $$$)and llittle of theirs..and still make supernormal "profit".....only in trinidad that could happen.

sigh....dont hate on the track,
look at the extensive development the cars have done to their chassis work, look at the crash,
that roll cage is EPIC!!

sorry to hear about the loss, was truly a monster.
and a legend it will remain.

I believe some years ago, The Sheik Machine went across there to race and they slammed the wall just after launching ... That track has a sharp left turn at the end of the 1/4 and hence they have to brake either hard at the end or just before the quarter marker. I think sometime ago, the higher horsepower cars used to run 1/8 miles because of that sharp turn !!

Yep it was sheik and the bedroom slipper and nobody wanted to stop until they crossed the finish line, sheik hit and grazed the guard rail all along the corner before coming to a stop.
The high hp cars there only run 1/8 mile because of the stopping problem.

Wow!

I really admire the driver of the Starion,... stopped his car and ran to help.
