Thanks. After much agony with Mutekis, I've seen the light with McGards.

Rotating seat = no scratches on lug seating area on wheel = WIN

Also, the finish doesn't flake off after two or three uses...so

1 set of Mc Gards > 1000 sets of Mutekis.

^^ EPIC LOLZ. Most "tuners" and "shops" swear by Mutekis and other brands, and have never even heard of McGards. They're expensive too (I had paid like 600 for my last set)...so most folks just don't bother.

If you want them - online + skybox FTW.

$600TT for those lugs? Aren't the Works and other counterparts like close to $1000 for them?

^^After markup from dealers + "brand markup" yeah

Actually, the McGards would have cost me more like 700...but say what.

the difference in colored lug nuts:

some claim to be anodized, but are actually chrome nuts they just chrome plated in another color.... to get the transparent anodized effect.

the ones that wouldn't flake are actually anodized.

^^Correctomundo. I had two sets of Mutekis on two different cars - same results. Plus the "splines" on the Mutekis (I had the close ended ones) didn't seem nearly as robust as those on the McGards.

Conrad - I hear ya! But wagonrunner is right....Mileage Mack doesn't use the air gun...so there is hope.

After all is said and done though, I don't think air guns are recommended for use on most aftermarket lugs.....

....anyone using those NeoChrome Project KICS's?
