You've seen the official photos of the Lamborghini Aventador J (remember to pronounce J like Jota as if you're really from Sant'Agata) -- now see photos of the car under thousands of bright lights at Volkswagen Group Night with Lambo chief Stephan Winkelmann standing next to it. This annual event is not a sprint, but a six-hour marathon with lots of walking, standing and Carlsberg. If this one-off Lamborghini survives the night without having beer spilled on its "carbon skin" seats, it won't be because the catering staff didn't serve us enough.
Incidently, Winkelmann announced tonight that the Aventador J has indeed found a buyer and said buyer has agreed to pay 2.1 million euros before Europe's not insubstantial Value Added Tax is applied.
We also learned that this 691-hp barchetta version of the Aventador is officially considered the "lowest Lamborghini ever produced."
We don't expect this will be the last you'll see of the Aventador J outside of the auction block. Lamborghini notes that the original, Miura-based '70 Jota inspired owners to create Jota-look Miuras. We can't imagine there won't be at least a few Aventador owners to follow suit, because really, who doesn't thrill to the prospect of wearing a helmet in a road car? (In addition to driving around with a helmet -- open-face if you want to be cool -- you'll have no A/C, tunes or nav.)
From the Lamborghini Aventador J official web page, one off -- UNICA -Only one made, the rarest new Super Car in the World!
The owner is likely to be a member of the Al-Thani family or the Saudi Royal family as the car would be sold to a repeat Lamborghini collector, but a Swiss or Gibraltar resident is also possible if you look at registration all limited models from Lamborghini are first offered to their best clients.
