Which 5 channel to choose ?

Postby dg216 » May 26th, 2012, 9:15 am

Soundstream Technologies Lil Wonder 4th Gen. 5 Channel Amplifier 1110Wrms (L5.1110) or PowerBass ASA 700.5x??
for a pair of image dynamics components CTX6.5cs And a ID 12v3D4
Anybody has first hand use on these amps? or at least reason for one and not the other when it comes to quality ? I want to purchase this week but would like some insight from you guys out there .

The Powerbass is the better option out of the 2 amps mentioned..

Whats your budget though? they maybe other amps you can consider for a few hundred bucks more

dude a kicker zx7005 or a crossfire vr705d, both will meet your budget and these are like way superior to the amps you considering right now

Depending on price and past history, it can go either way. It's naturally, all things being equal, a better amp than the Soundstream, Powerbass, Boss brands.

I would put it on par with the early JL Audio, Coustic and Orion Cobalt series amps....not extremely powerful, but clean circuitry @ rated power.

phoenix gold is known for producing quality equipment, therefore I'm assuming this should be a good amp you could try, never used it though.

Buy it online or let someone bring it in for you.
All these amps very small, 12" x 2.5" x 6.5"
Requires less power than older amps, so less burden on electrical system.
Most of these amps are 2012 models, I think the polk is 2011.

Hybrid AB/D
Kenwood KAC-7005PS, Kenwood Excelon X700-5 and JBL GTO-5EZ

Class D
Polk Audio PA D5000.5, Soundstream TN5-950D
