Sundown 5000d
AB vfl 650.1

I know the price & specs of all but i'd like user feedback to make a decisio... especially on the 40.1 and M4a as im most interested in those 2 models.

the info i dig up online is not enough to make a decision I'd like some feedback from people who actually used these amps please

I'd recommend the M4A since DD rates it to do 5000W+ on 12V..

The IA 40.1 should do ~ 4000W, but you need a very strong electrical system to get that..

Now, if it is the new IA 40.1 Reserve model.. well.. that's a different story..

Well boi, sweet amps you listed there! Factor in price and available space to help with your decision then. I've never seen tests on the IA as yet, but I did notice it is rated at 14.4V on their website. DD gives a good idea what their amp will do at both 12 and 14V.. M4A would still be my choice, but I'd don't the prices off hand and that factors in heavily in my book.

True.. but d 40.1 is a lot maller in size I think it gives about 4krms @ 12v, this is d amp I'm really interested in as its less popular down here, price on dd n ia is about d same, but more power output from an amp doesn't nec mean better sound result

That DD has already proven itself imo.. the reviews on it are excellent!

Also consider resale value of your chosen amp.. some are harder to sell than others when that time comes.

i was hoping m4a DD amp owners wud post up something but i guess they may not want others to know what they have for privacy & security reasons

DD M4A is a worldwide proven performer that has been out a few yrs going & u will be hard pressed to find any bad reviews

i know endorsing what i sell seems bias but just fyi for all reading : i have worked with nearly all recent DD amps & have not been disappointing by any of them

extremely musical clean tonal amps that cover entire music spectrum accurately & are very current efficient amps too , once ur current supply is sufficient these amps will play for hrs non stop & barely even get warm , yes they are under rated too

im not going to bash other brands but u get what u pay for with any DD amp & more ..... :|

i wud have to say the dd m4a. these amps are very strong and of high quality. used from the m2b straight up to m4a, s2b, ss4a, c5c, and the list goes on. lol

was also able to safely run the m3a and m4a at 0.5 ohms daily play (with a voltage of over 13v minimum) and use of input terminals ;) thanks to tool maker.

very tonal amps, does not lack lower frequencies punch and is rather pleasing to listen to.

never used a 40.1 but used a 20.1 already its not a bad amp. very well built amp aswell.

AB 650.1! amps are very efficient and are also half ohm stable.. this amp will surpass 6500rms @ 1 ohm @ 12v... so both of the other amps mentioned here are not even comparable in the class. they are all superb amplifiers but in this case i would choose the AB. the amp is very tonal, i am running a 500.1 @ half ohm daily and i am a happy owner.

The VFL 650.1 is rated at 12.6 v and only goes up to 15 v this amp is very efficient an is .5 ohm stable for daily playing warranty and product support is also given. In term of cost it is in the same price range as the others u quoted above.
There are a lot of happy AB owners out there and in the arena who could give u more details and there experience with the product.

eg the white wingroad with the 4 15 xfls use one VFL 650.1 .

The new IA amps are awesome. DD rates there amps at 12 volts but the IA will do almost the same power at 12 volts as it will at 14 volts. FYI IA amps are underrated. Iv used both DD and IA and ur not gonna notice a difference. The IA amps will play the higher frequencies better imo.

Had it on 2 9512 daily playing with 4 xs d3100 and 240amp alt......Really didn't do much of a dent on current draw to me.
