Long time browser, first time poster here. I'm in need of assistance/advice. I hope someone can help. Wasn't sure if to post here or in the Euro thread but I figured I'd get a quicker response here. So here goes.
My dad has a Skoda Octavia II and I wanna upgrade the deck. New deck works fine but I've got no sound, so here's the problem. When my dad bought the Skoda he went for the premium package (Audience) which includes 12 speakers powered by an OEM amplifier.
For those who don't know I'm gonna say right off the bat. The amp does not use a "remote on" wire. It uses the CANBUS system. Unfortunately the devices which I purchased to retain the amp and steering controls works only to retain the controls. As far as I can tell, whatever CANBUS signals they may be sending is not triggering the Skoda amp.
Does anyone have any experience in this matter. As it looks now I may have to bypass the amp (if that is even at all possible for the Skoda). Will I be stuck the the factory setup?
