WTK: Best amp(s) to power 6 T3 T1000?

Postby -Roach- » March 5th, 2015, 4:10 pm

Im looking for a amp to power 6 T3 T1000 10's.. Each would be dual 2-ohm... It will not be for competition... It will be used as street or daily... What you guys recommend?!

Willing to try 6 individual monos? May be the more cost effective thing (if space isn't an issue) than getting a good amplifier which is half ohm stable.

I would off use 3 2ohms stable amp to power them subs, amp must be at least 2400rms, if d sub was dual 4 it would off been ez to get ah amp to match ah pair.

Roach you may have to throw in some more $$$ bai...Even if you decide to buy one amp with around 7k or maybe 9 k it's gona cost you a lot(unless used). It will be more expensive buy 3 amps(good brands) to do the job.

An amp with the power capil tech posted may cost at least 2-3k(depending on brand)

That budget seems too low to fully power those 6 subs. My advice, run 4 or hold of until you raise your budget.

Most usable wiring options would be:
a)six individual 1.00ohm loads
b)two 1.34ohm loads
c)one 1.50ohm load
d)one 0.67ohm load

Amp choices
a)six small amplifiers. wires galore. tuning issues to properly balance all amps.

b)four 1ohm stable amplifiers, running each pair parallel bridged OR two 2ohm stable amplifiers. each amp will see 0.67ohms. requires 'reputable' amps, strong electrical system and a smart user.

c)one massive 2ohm stable amplifier OR a pair of 1ohm stable amplifiers bridged, amps will be running below recommended impedance. (2ohm amp will see 1.5ohms & in the bridged pair, each will see 0.75ohms)

d)requires one massive 1ohm stable amp. amp to be run at 0.67ohms.

You will have to balance between cost and the lowest impedance you are comfortable running.. Choose wisely.. lol

If I missed any other wiring possibilities, add them to the list..

Hard to reply and not confuse him if I elaborate after this so i'll just quote it.

You can get:

Six single 1 ohm (coils in parallel in option a above) or 4 ohm (coils in series) subs.

Three 2 ohm loads. Either you parallel a pair that are in 4 ohm configuration or series a pair that are in 1 ohm configuration. Either way you get a 2 ohm load.

Two 3 ohm loads if you series three subs in 1 ohm configuration.
Two 0.3 ohm loads if you parallel three subs in 1 ohm configuration
Two 12 ohm loads if you series three subs in 4 ohm configuration
Two 1.3 ohm loads if you parallel three subs in 4 ohm configuration (option b above)

One 6 ohm load if you series all six subs in 1 ohm config, series all three sets of pairs in 2 ohm configuration, series the two pairs of three subs that provided a 3 ohm load or parallel a pair that are in in 12 ohm configuration.
One 24 ohm load if you series all six subs in 4 ohm configuration or series the pair of three subs that are in 12 ohm configuration
One 1.5 ohm load if you parallel two sets of subs in 3 ohm configuration subs (as stated in option c above).
One 0.6 ohm load if you series a pair of 0.3 ohm loads or parallel all six 4 ohm subs (as in option d above).
One 0.15 load if you parallel a pair of 0.3 ohm loads or parallel all six subs in one ohm configuration.

Id opt for three 2500 watt amps to power 3 pairs at 2 ohms. Like them Orion 2500d *hides behind couch*

Ive made my decision and already purchased my amplifiers... Cost went a little over the budget but it was worth it...

Decided to go with a pair of 2000rms amps... Will wire 3 10's on each amplifier @ 1.33 ohms each... Should be sufficient power for daily...

And when you feel the need for more power, consider option C i had mentioned earlier! Lol

Think i would consider option C when doing SPL... And leave them wired to 1.33 for daily...
