yeh boy reddo... That wud have been my nex move if the diesel konked out while I had it.
Already had my big exhaust on the correct side of vehicle.
At the time jz's were cheaper than diesel replacement.
But I eh know if ur diesel working good or not but like u not enjoying the 75$ a week in fuel or wat?

But it shud not be much of a prob to fit. Single turbo will clear booster and master cyl. Gbox hard to get so no worries bout clutch mc in the way.
Most jz come front sump so it shud clear the cross member nicely.
Lock up the existing diff and install some ladder bars or 4 link to prevent axle wrap.
Run that till u realize the final ratios off for ur intended use of the vehicle after which u will have to determine ur next move wet rear end. Either something drastic like the dude who put the r34 rear end on a Mazda pickup or get a ford 9 inch lsd wit the ratios u need with the same ladda bars.

Lots of possibilities. I say DO EET.

Makes no sense buying jz boxes down here. Everyone i know bringing it down sea freight....its costing them MAX of 4500$ with all taxes, customs etc. Prices range from 450-600$ U.S for an R154 complete, some of them are rebuilt, meaning, its basically brand new OEM Toyota parts, making it like brand new internals, just outside dirty.

2jz 6fwd would cost from 1000-1600$ U.S but thats with complete conversion for a supra, so u can get it cheaper if u only want the box and some minor parts.

Prices for r154 here complete are about 12,000-14,000 which is the last prices i seen down south last week.

Saw ONE V161 rare 6fwd box sell for 30,000$ but that was with the rear diff bcuz of the gearing ratios.

Other than that, these boxes are super hard to get.

*Please call me concerning gearbox and where to get them*

There are versions of the crown that came with the jz motor. Get a sump pan from that engine and swap it onto your engine or get that engine and you good to go. Good luck looking man...

ok the first question is which 1jz are you going to be using the vvti or non vvti? reason being most of the non vvti ones we have are coming from supras and are usually mid/rear sump. if going with the newer vvti model the chaser one which is more available locally wont work as its front sump you will need to locate one out of a soarer. its easy to tell when looking at the engine the chaser models usually have jzx 100-110 written on them and the soarer ones have jzz30 -31 these however arent as easy to find. lastly if your car already has a jz in it you can just swap the sumps and use the one from the existing engine.

Can a 1JZ GTE non-vvti head mate to a 2JZ GTE bottom end for a Frankenstein build?

I've been told that a 1JZ GTE can easily get to 400bhp on stock internals....what is needed for this?
