Now it sounds as if the bearings making noise again. Is that normal for wheel bearing to go bad in such a short period of time?
And should i pay TTTL $675 a bearing to replace them with originals?
Will be doing this just now, would rather get the original bearings
Bearings going again, i'm going originals this time and i'm finding someplace else to press them in.
I'm starting to believe i'm only working to pay rent and maintain vehicle
A poor installation of substitute bearings would very probably cause damage to hub shaft and installation of original bearings may be more $'s down the drain.
This could now become a real money trap (I have seen this happen too many times).
Ted_v2 wrote:Yep. Once its pressing In bad you can damage the actual hub. Would then fit the bearing slack.
There's a certain way to press in inside.
I use almost 3 tons to press in a bearing. .spin the hub while pressing it

I was told by another driver that it is only suitable to certain cars based on the curvature of the glass. i.e. it is more suitable to windshields that are more flat that curve. The original type blade has more pressure points and are suited to windshields that are more curved.
This was news to me so wanted to know if anyone else was aware.

160k and burning oil? Im guessing poor maintenance history?
When my yaris was at 230k it started to burn off a little oil so i switched out from the 10w30 amsoil to the 10w40 and that worked a little better. Maybe you could try a 20w50 but really the only solution is to rebuild or replace!
