oxygen sensor for 4age blacktop

Postby demogorgon15 » May 1st, 2012, 4:01 pm

Hello,

I've been searching for an o2 sensor for the 4age and so far the only one I've come across that might work is the NTK 29400 4 wire universal o2 sensor . Has anyone had experience getting this sensor to work with the 4age?

This is all the info I'm getting about it:

Mounting Style:Thread-in
Notes: Universal non-flange style.
Number of Wires:4
Oxygen Sensor Bung Included: No
Voltage Range: 0-1 V
Wiring Harness Included: Yes
Heated: Yes
Thread Size: 18 mm

Brief update for anyone else looking for an O2 sensor for their 20 valve or JZ, I used a Bosch LS 07 universal four wire o2 sensor which was about $585 at repuauto in marabella. So far its working great, No more gas fumes from the exhaust, no more black smoke, and more importantly reduced fuel consumption \o/ Instead of fulling up ever 3 days its now 4 days. It may not seem like much but it adds up.

I have 1 more error code to get rid of and that's intake temp sensor which I'm trying to source ATM. I don't have any gauges hooked up, and as for the flange I didn't use one. I got the screw type mount from greene's muffler and repair shop in california for $40. We basically cut out the part that the O2 sensor needs to screw into from the mount. (section in red)

Then made a hole big enough in the exhaust piping to weld it on as flush as possible opposite the existing o2 sensor and about 3 inches down. The old o2 sensor /w flange was left in place to prevent any exhaust leaks. So now I have the option of using either the screw type sensors or sensors with flanges.

nice... I was looking up that sensor type just now and for some reason, some links came up that didn't come up on my previous searches for o2 sensors for 20V...after some searching, it turns out either of these will work as well

Gas Mileage after putting in the O2 sensor and finally getting an IAT sensor:

And still have a quarter tank to go! This is also after I found out I had a small leak in my gas tank during the week.

Do you have a contact number for REPAUTO and can you direct me as to exactly where they are located? Please bear in mind that I am from the east and I am "directionally challenged" (ah does get lost easy nah).

REPUAUTO - 653-5896

*warning I suck at giving directions* Make a right at marabella roundabout like if your heading to the police station they are on the right hand side not too far from the roundabout. They also have plug wires for the 20v but you might get some problems fitting the plug wire cover. I only used the coil wire.

Ok, so it's a dread bump, but this is interesting enough.

This dude managed to find a compatible sensor with a flange and the only catch is swapping the plug casings, which is pretty easy to do. I'm at the end of my second used sensor, which is experiencing a VERY slow closed-loop swing (probably 5-6 times a minute), so it's time to replace it, and I plan to use a new sensor this time.

I'm not doing the whole grounding thing though, an incomplete heater circuit will trigger a CEL.

It's here!
