Cabin Filter in Altis

Postby vij_twincamgt » August 27th, 2012, 3:20 pm

Bought a new cabin filter for the Corolla Altis, however when I take out the glove compartment, I am not seeing the cover to remove to change the filter, I looked at videos on Youtube, and they all showing that there is a clip on cover for filter.

You're in the right place. Check on either side of the fuse box, its in a black plastic housing that would drop when unclipped. I can confirm later tonight when I'll have access to my vehicle.

Sorry for the late reply.

I checked and realized that the filter needs changing as well. Here are some pics

This is what u supposed to see when you remove the glove compartment. Be careful as the the little shock pin that allows the compartment to drop slowly, can be broken. (ask me how I know). you need to look at the white drawer in the photo.

Hold the clips on either side of the white drawer and carefully slide it out.

The filter removes easily by lifting and if it looks anything like this, you definitely need to replace it.

The filter I have is BOSCH Aeristo AC-T4 and part number is 25G880986AF5.016

For those who don't know, the fuse box on the top left hand corner closer to you than the filter housing. Its a little black box that can be easily unmounted.

Again, sorry for the late reply.

Hey man, thanks for the info..

However the compartment did not come with the white cover, and the area for the filter to fit was blanked off, According to online forums, they said the cut the area which is made with a thin plastic, when i cut it, there was no filter present so i just slipped the new one and seal it back with some duct tape.
Everything is good now.

So it was sealed with no access and no drawer/housing for a filter? Any info on the forum stating reason/s as to exactly why there would not be a filter and the area being sealed as opposed to other altis (like mine) having filters and housing?

Most altis versions do not have any accommodation for a cabin air filter.
