Depending on the distance your car was towed, with the parking brake on, a lot of heat would be generated. Heat will melt the grease in your bearing. It is possible that with driving, the bearing was further damaged.
Which brings to the issue with MY Fielder wagon. The car at 115,000kms had both rear wheel bearings singing loudly. The original at TTL is about $2,800 each!!!!!
Aftermarket is $350. 10 mins to remove, 10 mins to install. Every Monday morning I can renew the aftermarket at that price !
It is disappointing for a Toyota though. My previous car, a B14 was sold with 135,000kms, and I never had a wheel bearing problem.
Jack up the car as Hook advised, and spin the rear wheel by hand. You will hear the sound.
Peace.
