Corolla DX wagon suspension question

Postby cueball1990 » March 24th, 2015, 11:53 pm

Hey guys I wanted to find out of anyone knows if the rear suspension on the DX wagon which is leaf springs carry a shackle bushing. My mechanic told me that the loud thump i hear when the car is loaded is the result of a bad bushing but i cant seem to find a replacement part. Does anyone know if i buy the entire setup for the rear suspension if it will solve the problem? The noise still remains even after i changed my shocks so im not sure what to do about it now.

Also does anyone know where i can find front seats for DX wagons? they seem pretty hard to find for some reason

Had that prob before. To answer your question NO their is no rubber ON the shackle On the body However YES , most parts place hav them , it will be a two piece rubber bushing which does not need to be pressed in/ out located to extreme rear of the vehicle's "Chaise " on each side will carry TWO so you need four in total. Take out the old ones and carry them to verify it the rote size !
Seats. Yeah what that guy said ask for 101 or l touring
Oh and if you want your back seats as comfy as wing road simple thing ,, the two striker pins holding the seat in place,, use a vice grip take out the screws (with the messed up head , hence vice grip) and turn them around. It will recline the seat making them wayyyyyyy more comfortable and lock as normal

That loud sound MAY not be from that alone, hav them check the lifts as well there is a " buffer" rubber around the bundle that may be in need of changing or the " King bolt " which holds the lifts together mite be slack .

well the noise only seems to be there when there is excess load in the back and only on the left side so i will have to check and see. I might not bother fixing it though because i wanna sell it soon

got a used evaporator for 400 and it was for the ae110...although it was foreign used it looked like new..the housing is the same as the dx..all needs to be done is to change the wiring from the dx into the 110....it will be a couple of years newer as advised by my ac mech....ravi

call him and he will hook you up..7368971..i changed my evap from my dx and everything cost 800...400 for the evap and 400 to vaccum, change seals, regas and labour which wasnt bad.....
