My L200 Sportero has a slight bucking..HELP PLEASE

Postby Slick84 » May 25th, 2014, 5:45 pm

Hey guys, i have a L200 Sportero and when I'm driving and come to a full stop, when i mash back the gas i get a very slight "buck", but after that the van drives perfectly. We thought it was the inhibitor switch so we changed that in the company, but that isn't the problem. There is no error on the diagnostic test on the computer in the company, so what else can it be? The mechanic says it could be that the injectors need cleaning or the gas tank has sediment and needs to be cleaned. Has anyone encountered a problem like this or has any information on what can be causing such a "buck"? Any feedback would be much appreciated...

I usually change the filter to make sure it isn't water in the system as i started seeing minor white smoke (sometimes)...but the mechanic said as i stated it can be that the filter is getting dirty due to the sediment from the gas tank, but i will continue to change filters regularly...but on another note, where can i get a proper diesel injector cleaner?I did a clean out in Barataria on the main road by Republic Bank, by Mustapha, but i don't think it did much of a difference...any other reputable place i can take my van to get the injector cleaning done properly?Names and numbers would be welcomed and appreciated...thanks 1UZFE for your advice

Had this problem with my l200
The problems usually are
Gas tank-dropped it and cleaned
Filter -wash or replace
And Fuel Pump have a little strainer to clean -very tricky to take out so be care full u could destroy it

As for cleaning injectors I fill my tank and use a carib bottle of pitch oil then go for run usually works for me

But check that strainer for tho op

Hey guys...i went back into the company and they gave me a gas tank injector cleaner to use, when i put it in i ran the van and it didn't "buck" up till now, which is close to a week so far. I also have a treatment to run through the injectors but i didn't get chance to get it done just yet...so as to me problem, it seemed as if it were the injectors needed cleaning. I hope the problem does not persist. Thanks for all the advice and help guys, much appreciated.

It was one of the injectors...sent it by a diesel mechanic in Tableland and he sorted it out...he's a bit costly but the work was great
