WHICH ENGINE IS BETTER 6A13TT OR 1JZGTE???

OK GUYS I AM CURIOUS AS TO THE BETTER ENGINE HERE. I THINK THAT THIS IS A FAIR ASSESSMENT BECAUSE BOTH A 2.5L ENGINES.

1JZ - TOYOTA - INLINE 6 TWIN TURBO
6A13TT - MITSUBISHI - V6 TWIN TURBO

SO WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?? IN TERMS OF RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY OF PARTS AND MOST IMPORTANTLY PERFORMANCE!!!!!!

I HAVE OWNED A 6A13TT IN A GALANT VR4 AND IT WAS PURE FUN. VERY FAST. I CANNOT GAUGE ITS PERFORMANCE TO A 1JZ BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER DROVE OR RODE IN ONE. I KEEP HEARING GOOD THINGS THOUGH. ONE THING WE KNOW FOR SURE BOTH ARE BETTER THAN THE RB'S IN STOCK FORM. SO YOUR THOUGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both have comparable specs, output and i can say for the 6a it is reliable, and i wouldn't doubt Toyota reliability. For tuning the 1jz will be able to take more boost in stock form. In Trinidad parts for both engines are easily sourced a la bamboo.
The newer ijz with vvti are efficient, 6a can be gas guzzlers.

I would still say 6a for the obvious reason of me being a triple diamond fanatic.

But for you the deciding factor should be platform.

THANKS ROLLINGSTOCK I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENTS!!!!!. WELL THE 6A WOULD BE FOR A GALANT OR THE 1JZ FOR A CRESSIDA. I SEE IT HAVE A MAN ON TUNER HAVE A 1JZ IN A 910 BLUEBIRD I WONDER HOW DAT DOES RUN?? POWER TO WEIGHT THAT IS???

I have a personal problem with putting a high output engine in an old chassis vehicle that was intended and equipped with a 4 banger for obvious reasons. Cressida with a 1jz, expect torque steer like a mofo and bad balance in weight.

ON THE FORUM SOME GUYS WERE SAYING THAT THE 1JZ IS THE BETTER ENGINE BECAUSE IT CAN TAKE MORE BOOST AND MODIFICATIONS IN STOCK FORM AND THE AVAILABILITY OF PARTS IS NOT A PROBLEM. THEY SAID STOCK THAT A 1JZ COULD OUTPERFORM A 6A13. SOMETHING ABOUT THE INLINE 6 BEING MORE BALANCED AND THUS MORE EFFICIENT AND COULD HANDLE HEAT BETTER ESPECIALLY IN FORCED INDUCTION APPLICATIONS. THEY ALSO SAID IT IS A MORE REV HAPPY ENGINE IS THIS TRUE????

Yep, that's why i said for tuning the jz will be able to take more boost stock.

GOTCHA ROLLINGSTOCK IS THE SAME TRUE FOR THE 2JZ AND THE 6G72 ENGINES WITH THEM BEING 3.0 AS WELL?????

I KNOW THAT THE 6G72 ENGINE IS VERY UNDERRATED BUT I HEAR IT IS A MONSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude both those engines you posted above are brutes, i wouldn't rate one above the other, but there are a lot of aftermarket parts available for the 2jz together with a lot of tuning R&D that went into optimizing that engine. Which in itself was a detriment to the Toyota flagship mk4 supra, so many men went after the big power numbers that the car basically became dyno queens.

Runing 15 psi on mine no problems so far 6a13 is realy relable

Try the 6g75, 3.8L v6 mivec with some tuning and a gearbox they can move a lancer into the mid 11's
