Given that the engine in some Hyundai vehicles have been co-developed with Mitsubishi technology, I would appreciate if anyone within the Mitsu family can provide some advice on the following:
I have an 2003 Hyundai Sonata EF-B with a 2.0L 4 cylinder engine and automatic transmission (stock). What I want to know is whether anyone have knowledge regarding changing from automatic to manual transmission in this vehicle. Can a Mitsubishi gearbox bolt up and if so what gearbox?
If not, what Hyundai gearbox is available in T&T? I have not contacted any FU parts dealers at the moment to find out if they have gearboxes for this vehicle.
Update:
I searched the forum and only found out that its most likely a Hyundai G4JS, Sirius II engine, shared/similar to the Mitsu 4G64. The link below has a picture of the engine.
